Sarah Jackson, Chief People Officer at Caravel Autism Health shared the challenge they experienced before implementing Pinsight and key benefits and outcomes after Implementing Pinsight:
“I am Sarah Jackson, Chief People Officer for Caravel Autism Health. I’ve been with Caravel for four years, functioning as the CPO for nearly 2 years. I’ve worked in the HR field for 18 years. Caravel Autism Health provides evidence-based ABA therapy services to children on the Autism spectrum. We specialize in early intervention treatment as that has been proven to support optimal outcomes for our clients. We have been leveraging Pinsight as a development resource for our senior leaders including our clinic directors since May of 2021.
As Caravel was in a phase of enterprise growth and leadership need, we looked to Pinsight to help us better understand the areas of strength and opportunity within our leadership team. Our primary focus was to benchmark and understand our current talent, which would inform where we needed to lean in for our future talent pipeline. We started with our most senior leadership team, creating buy-in and development within that team. We began evaluating assessment tools to support our efforts to understand our bench strength. All of the tools we had been evaluating initially were strictly focused on a point in time assessment, most of which were self-reflective responses. These types of resources serve a purpose and gather insights. However, they were largely static in nature and we could see them being a one-and-done process. Then one of my leaders recommended we look into Pinsight. The immediate appeal to Pinsight is that it contained the evaluative and self-reflective components to the process, AND so much more. The data insights, comparative analytics, and continued development functionality made it easily the top choice for our organization. The simulation process provides an additional perspective on performance vs. a self-inventory style assessment. The development App is an additional resource that has yielded fruit in the leadership approach for our team.
Pinsight was key in better understanding our bench strength internally, which allowed us to strategically plan for our external pipeline. We do not yet leverage the simulation for prospective talent externally, but we do set our future leaders up with Pinsight to help give the most leadership development runway possible to enhance success in role when promoted. We were additionally able to help develop leadership competencies within our existing team. Our retention has improved. Our leadership engagement scores have improved. Our ability to deliver quality treatment to our clients has improved. Collectively we are a stronger organization by leaning in on developing our leadership talent throughout Caravel. While the insights we gleaned as an organization were helpful, the most helpful attributes of Pinsight were the self-reflections and self-development that grew out of the Pinsight process. Our leaders had better knowledge of the leadership competencies, and, they had a tool in the App to help them be able to grow their skillsets. It continues to be a topic of conversation and a resource utilized for personal development.
